Fever is a significant increase in temperature and a defensive reaction against various infections. Fever can also be caused by diseases of the nervous or endocrine system. This disease is usually accompanied by a breach of some bodily functions and it brings additional stress on the human respiratory system. Fever is usually followed by the enhanced breakdown of proteins and increased heart rate.

In medicine, they distinguish infectious and non-infectious fever. The second one is connected with the poisoning. Also, there is a manifestation of the disease in case of cancer diseases, respiratory diseases (asthma), necrosis. Disorders of body temperature regulation usually cause severe headaches or ovarian dysfunction.

Scientists divide three stages of fever

The first stage

Increase in body temperature. The outward signs of the first stage are chills and pale skin.

The second stage

The temperature is kept at a high level. Pale skin becomes red, the heat may occur.

The third stage

The decrease in temperature due to excessive perspiration. In case of a sharp decrease in body temperature there is a threat of collapse. If the temperature is falling during a few days, the threat of collapse disappears.

It is better to treat the fever in the early stages.

Depending on the temperature, there are four subtypes of the disease: subfertil, moderate, high, excessive fever.

How to treat a fever

First, consult your doctor. It is generally recommended to drink paracetamol and aspirin. You should pay attention to the dosage of drugs. For example, a higher dose of aspirin can lead to hemorrhage.

Treat fever with herbs

You can decrease the temperature with a solution of vinegar and vodka in equal proportions. You can wipe the body with it. It dries quickly on a hot body, so it is recommended to repeat the procedure several times.

You should not dress up too little, but do not bundle up in blankets. In the first case, you may get a strong fever, and in the second – hyperthermia.

As you know, the cool air helps to reduce the heat. Regular ventilation of the room or the use of air conditioning can significantly improve the situation.

Naturally, the high temperature causes an irresistible thirst. Sweat and shortness of breath during fever promotes loss of a large amount of fluid from the body. To replenish fluids and simultaneously reduce the temperature you should drink tea with raspberry or honey.

Poultice of acetic water helps to reduce the fever.
